The Genova Photometer has been developed for scientists who need fast quantitative results for their DNA and protein sampling. With its integrated scanner, it is ideal for quality determination of oligonucleotides, DNA or RNA. Its software provides you with immediate quantification of ssDNA, dsDNA, RNA and oligonucleotides. You can also gauge the quality of your sample using the Genova's ratio calculation at 260/280 and 260/230 and the purity scan mode.
For the quantification of proteins, the Genova has a variety of measuring systems, such as Bradford, Lowry, Biuret, Biccinchonic and Direct UV Calculation.
The Genova Photometer is fitted with a Xenon flashlight. This lamp has a light intensity which is 5 to 10 times greater than for normal UV equipment. As a result it has a very good signal/noise ratio, particularly for wavelengths in biological samples. The Genova calibrates the wavelength independently and therefore satisfies GLP procedures.
In addition, the photometer „Genova Nano“ is equipped with a measuring cell with which samples of a volume of up to 2 μl can be measured. A cuvette is not needed. It is sufficient to pipette the sample on the measuring cell and to close it. After measuring the sample, it can be pipetted off the glass surface and the surface can be cleaned with a laboratory cloth. Due to the small layer thickness of 0.2 or 1 mm of the sample, the often necessary thinning of the sample is unnecessary.
